Angela Shier-Jones

I was very sorry to hearthat Revd Angela Shier-Jones died early this morning. I didn’t know Angela personally (we were on nodding terms when we met at District Synod) but was very familiar with her writing, her blog and her contribution to London Methodism and the wider connexion. She wrote with passion and was unafraid to express a minority or unpopular opinion. She also possessed a considerable brain; whether you agreed with her or not, she was always worth hearing.

In her last blog post she wrote of her illness and paid tribute to the staff of the Marsden Hospital, London’s famous specialist cancer care hospital. This was another characteristic of Angie’s blog: she was unafraid to open bear her innermost thoughts and feelings.
