About

Waiting for the trainA city not forsaken is the new name of the blog formerly known as hollowayrev. It is the random thoughts of Paul Weary, a British Methodist minister presently serving on the staff of Walworth Methodist Church in the inner city London Borough of Southwark, where he has particular responsibility for community engagement. He previously lived in Holloway, hence the original name of the blog. Paul is married to Mary Ann, who is originally from the Philippines,  and they have two children, Sophia (25) and Nathaniel (22).

…and you shall be called, “Sought Out, A City Not Forsaken.” (Isaiah 62:12)

Hi Paul, searching for Wesley resources, great to find your sermon and site! We are celebrating Wesley Day on the 27th combined with Pentecost so am linking JW with the Holy Spirit – wading unwillingly through his own sermons! Warm regards. It would be good to make e-contact with you.
We are back in NZ now

Hi Paul, family reasons brought us back to NZ January 2009. I had a 2 yr appt at a country town in the north then ‘home’ to Christchurch just before the big earthquake in Feb 2011 to take up full time superintendency of circuit type parish ( 3 churches -2 half time minsters and self). I’m really enjoying the work and we’ve come through the earthquakes relatively unscathed. Biggest sadness was that our organist was killed along with 2 others when a central city Methodist church collapsed.
John studied last year – social work – now working with Salvation army, residential prison rehab.
How are you and the family?
    Blessings
    Marcia
